Week 1: THE PLEASURE OF FINDING THINGS OUT, Richard Feynman Interview (1981) (post 2)

Richard Feynman loves research and loves to explore and find things out for himself. He loves scientific explanations and how things evolved all around us. In the beginning of the video interview Feynman talks about how someone can see the beauty of a flower and how it attracts different species to fly on top of it. He even talks about how without all the beauty of what it is made up to be its just there and that's all. He even talks about childhood experiences with learning about dinosaurs and how tall they were and how amazing creatures they were. He was interested in why they all died out as well.

His father had him take walks with him out in the woods and explore. He grew up all around nature and learned to take it all in. His father taught Feynman to look further into things and notice things about nature and animals, especially about the Bird he talks about as a childhood memory, yes, he may know the name of a bird in every language but after that he still knows nothing about the bird but what different cultures call it. He taught Richard to look more into stuff than what may appear to everyone else. He stated that his father, "knew the difference between knowing the name of something, and knowing something." I liked this interview because it really made me think about what lives all around me and how I can learn more about anything I choose to because there is always more than meets the eye! He had a great father who taught him well!
