Week 1: Aldous Huxley (post 6)

In the film where Aldous Huxley was interviewed in 1958 by Mike Wallace, one of his statements from his book Brave New World regarded the thought of a dictatorship through fear or drugs in controlling the population to gain the support of the people. This is something that Mr. Huxley visualised this to occur in the future. This issue of his is nothing new to the people, because it is something that has been around for a long time, even before his interview was conducted.

This interview took place after World War 2, the Korean War, these were dealing with communism, dictatorship and democracy. The Cold War was still happening when he was being interviewed, so of course he would be have a set opinion on the possible fact that the world would someday all be ran by dictatorships because it was all that he witnessed at that time in his life. Huxley had a tendency to look at the negative side of situations without no possible positive regard.
