Week 6: NICHOLAS OF CUSA (post 5)

According to Dictionary.com Ignorance is defined as, "the state or fact of being ignorant; lack of knowledge, learning, information, etc." Based on this definition Nicholas Of Cusa is writing about learned ignorance and coming to terms that one must learn that one doesn't know. He is outlining true ideas, because many times people believe what they think is right in there terms or even others terms if they are followers and have no back bone. Those who believe that they know everything are ignorant themselves, because no one is perfect and how is one capable of knowing the unknown? Even with religion, because we need to learn that there are questions that will not be answered, we must accept that we don't know the answers.

People are afraid of the truth and don't like confronting it face to face, therefore, people feel that sticking to a belief will get them through life unharmed. I believe that people are afraid of change, and because of that they stick with the familiar and aren't branching out to new ideas. I'm sure that if I went up to anyone and asked them why the world turns? I'm sure that I would get so many different answers from so many different people, but the main fact is that many people would just blurt an answer out just to sound like they know what they are talking about even if they have no clue why the world turns. It just shows that people need to learn to believe and accept that they do not know! it's learned ignorance.
