In the book, The Life of Pythagoras I found one part to be very interesting, it was the part where Pythagoras was descending down from Mount Carmel and he was walking down sloaps of rocks from the inaccessible mountains. He was then seen by some Egyptian sailors who first thought that they should sell him into slavery, but soon after the changed their minds because they saw something supernatural and divine about Pythagoras. He then headed down and never looked back on his trail, then he said to the sailors, "Are you bound for Egypt?" (p.8)They then let him aboard their ship where he sat unnoticed and quite without eating, drinking or sleeping for three days. He didn't even bother them. The ride had been smooth and the sailors felt that something divine was with them and felt it was coming from Pythagoras.
When they arrived on the Egyptian coast they helped Pythagoras get off safely onto the beach. The sailors then presented Pythagoras with an altar and on top of it was fruits, and he accepted this gift and ate the fruits to become strong again. I liked this part of the story because it's really interesting how Pythagoras had this divine aura about him that people felt and admired. He was someone who was looked upon as mystical and divine and that's admirable.
