Week 4: The Problem of Consciousness (post 10)

This paper talks about consciousness and what it is. It even talked about in detail what some features of consciousness were. For example, it said that unity"the binding problem" is apart if the consciousness experience and it occurs"simultaneously as part of one unified conscious experience." It even talks about mood as another factor in features of consciousness and is best explained in biochemical terms. For example, anger, depression, happy, sad, ecstatic, silly, jolly, frustrated, excited, and vibrant are some of many moods out there that one can feel and express in there lifetime.

The paper did discuss how one could alter certain moods like depression, by taking certain mood-altering drugs. It is amazing how one can experience many moods all at once or at certain parts of ones day. It also talks about what are relations between consciousness and the brain? There definition is this, "Here it is: Conscious states are caused by lower level neurobiological processes in the brain and are themselves higher level features of the brain." Based on this,it all can go back to our five senses when we see something we react to it, our brain senses and is conscious of what it is, when we smell something good, our brain reacts, and when we hear a certain melody we react, our brain reacts to the sound. These reactions are all caused by lower level biological processes in the brain. The brain is very interesting, complex and very abstract.
